Using AMC results in BI tools
In short: Amazon delivers AMC results as CSV. This is our assessment, not Amazon documentation: load the file from S3 or through the download URL into Excel, Power BI or Looker Studio. Output the date as its own column, because aggregated rows cannot be split by day later.
From result to dashboard
- Get the CSV from S3 or through the download URL (see the two linked pages).
- Load it into the BI tool. Whether and how it connects to S3 directly is up to that tool, not AMC.
- Output one column for every dimension you want to filter by later (for example date, campaign, product group).
- Do not sum rows affected by threshold suppression; treat them as missing values.
Why the columns matter
AMC outputs aggregated results. What you do not group by in the query is not available in the report. The BI tool can only filter what the CSV contains. Plan the dimensions in the SQL before you build the dashboard and check the aggregation thresholds.
